I promise to do my best …

Horse: Uncategorized - February 16th, 2011

Just to let you know Brandy’s waistline is steadily decreasing. Still no treats and lots of hacking out …

Please pay attention to our strict safety procedures and dress code for hacking out …

I may look like I work for the council but my motto is 'Be Seen, Be Safe'

Also as part of my strict exercise regime he has been helping the farrier (very handy with a file and a hammer this boy!)

I wonder if heels would make my legs look longer??

Brandy – loose jumping

Horse: Uncategorized - February 4th, 2011

Brandy this week has mainly been running around in is very own, waterproof hi-vis jacket due to the poor wether conditions! He has found sleeping a much more enjoyable way to spend his days. He has unfortunately been banned from all titbits as his waistline is expanding to quickly and he is going on an ‘eat less/move more diet’ … bless him.

Here is one way he has been exercising this week …

A showjumping weekend …

Horse: Mr Grey, Uncategorized - January 26th, 2011

At the weekend we had a run out to what could be called our ‘local’ showjumping competition, Greenlands EC (http://www.greenlandsequestriancentre.co.uk/)

It was a fab day with the horses jumping starting at 2pm we had a leisurely set off which is quite rare!

We took three horses, 2 children and a dog so it made for a grand day out!

Nearly Christmas!

Horse: Uncategorized - December 23rd, 2010

Looks like its going to be a white Christmas after all, well snow on the ground at least.  Thankfully in the freezing temperatures over the last few weeks the school has still managed to keep a bit of bounce for doing a at least  a bit of flat work and lunging as hacking out is obviously out of the question!  And of course the fantastic horse walker is keeping  all the horses well exercised whatever the weather!  So all in all we are well equipt for coping for whats looking like a  long winter ahead.

I feel like I have come to work in a ski resort .  It  snowed on my  first day and just as we got rid of it from the first batch in came a second lot!   All the horses have made good progress but my horse of the week has to be the lovely Poppy Palamino, she is a sweet heart ……..look out for her on Horse Mart as she will be going on the site very soon  if not by the end of the day.

Here comes the rain again …

Horse: Uncategorized - July 2nd, 2010

After being on the borderline of a drought and threats of hosepipe bans (very ironic after the massive floods in November) we have had our first rain in a month this week. The air has freshened up, the dust has gone, the tourists are moaning (good old Lake District Holidays) but the grass is sprouting again! (Unfortunately so are the weeds – back to the ‘Round Up’ and Napsack sprayer then!)
