Big Bob on his back legs!

Horse: Bob - B. Grandeur - November 25th, 2009

Today Bob is recovering from yesterday’s mild trauma. Up in the school (all gates shut and safety precautions taken may i add) Bob in his own stubborn – i can’t be bothered to listen right now – way decided to unseat his rider (Matthew) in a most phenomenal fashion.

Doing a simple 20 m circle in a slow and controlled trot he decided he had quite simply had enough of these capers and would rear dramatically with his feet at least 15 ft in the air (i am only slightly prone to exaggeration). Both horse and rider fell swiftly to the ground, pausing only to create a spectacular commando roll, off they both set galloping round the school.

Thankfully Bob seemed to have frightened himself more than Matthew and within minutes he was back up there. From that moment the lesson got far better Bob was attentive and well behaved for the remainder of his training session.

Hero wishes he could pick somewhere sunnier for his holiday!

Horse: Hero - Fizzy Charlie - November 25th, 2009

'Brandy' (The Jack Russell)

'Brandy' (The Jack Russell)

Poor Hero is in week 2 of his rest period and unfortunately the weather is no better! He’s braved torrential rain (that apparently only happens once every thousand years) and flooding stables only to wake up this morning and discover The Lake District is now to be subjected to gale force winds!

He went out this morning to play for an hour and did some good old leg stretching with Brandy (The Jack Russell) – much to Brandy’s delight! He is currently munching his quality haylage which he prefers far more than wet grass!

Macaroni

Horse: Macaroni - November 11th, 2009

Macaroni has been broken by us early this year and is now riding away superbly, showing huge potential to excel in any sphere.

He is an increbily quick learner in all aspects of his ridden work and a true allrounder.

Macaroni is currently schooling over 1m fences, possessing a bold, careful jump.

He is currently being hunted with the Vale of Lune Harriers and The Three Counties Bloodhounds where he is proving to be a fantastic (ladies or gents) confident ride.

His flat work is progressing nicely where he is showing three even and steady paces with an open shoulder.

His weekly trips to showjumping events are taken in his stride with a laid back attitude and are allowing Macaroni to gain experience and confidence.

He is a fantastic horse with manners to match. He will hack alone and in company, first or last, 100% shoe, catch, load etc….

Always tries his best to please. A true gentleman.
