Horse Diaries: Poppy

Welcome to England …

Horse: Poppy - February 4th, 2011

Poppy arrived with us at the end of September from Ireland. What a treat she had yesterday she finally got to see what England looks like! She was taken out on a hack with Gray yesterday and what a little star she was.

Despite the not quite gale force winds she behaved impeccably, they did a good couple of miles and she really enjoyed herself. This girl continues to surprise us with how well she takes on any challenge …

Have a look for yourself at the videos – sorry about the wobble factor the footage came from ‘Gray – Cam’!

Poppy Progress …

Horse: Poppy - January 26th, 2011

Poppy is going from strength to strength and is being ridden in the school daily. She is enjoying work and showing real potential.

We are lucky enough to have a round pen with a Martin Collins surface which the horses love for a good roll!

Here is Poppy showing off her skills with a bit of loose jumping, watch that pop!!

Loose jumping – what a pop …

Not only is she coming along nicely under the saddle she has been fantastic to handle in the stable. She is quiet, well mannered and very affectionate below is a video showing how calm she is having her feet picked up – followed by another one of those loose jumping pops!

What a good lass!

Introducing Poppy …

Horse: Poppy - January 19th, 2011

As we loved Marylegs so dearly we hunted out her sister and went and bought her!

She was somewhat scatty to begin with but now she trusts us she is the loveliest, sweetest, kindest Palomino EVER (excluding Marylegs who was equally as gorgeous)!

B-E-A-oooooooooooootiful!

She is currently being broken and doing really well so watch this space for up dates!
