About Lakeland Equestrian
At Lakeland Equestrian we aim to provide you with the perfect horse. Whether the horse you are seeking is for show jumping, cross country, dressage horse, hacking out or an all rounder, we aim to cater for all. Most of our horses come to us unbroken from Ireland. Our speciality is with young horses less than 6 years of age from outstanding bloodlines; mares, geldings and stallions with presence, a responsive temperament & in prime physical condition. In short, horses with huge potential.
Our training programme ensures our horses are responsive, confident and respectful during handling both inside and outside the box, whilst being groomed, shod, clipped, during loading, while travelling and when being ridden alongside traffic.
After a settling in period the horses are individually assessed and assigned a tailor made training programme.
Using our full sized arena we slowly introduce the horses into the training / breaking in program. Only when we are sure a horse is ready do we slowly introduce them to pole work and small jumps.
By combining lots of patience, care and attention with proven traditional methods we progress the horses onto cross poles and begin to add height to the show jumps before introducing the horse to our all weather cross country course.
The whole process takes time, skill and huge amounts of effort. At Lakeland Equestrian we work with strictly limited numbers of carefully selected horses. This ensures that we are able to provide the necessary time and attention to produce truly fantastic results.
We encourage that you trial your prospective purchase, over a number of days if you wish to do so. We offer full use of all facilities and you are welcome to hack in the countryside either assisted or un-assisted.
We are located in the stunning Lake District only 30 minutes from junction 36 on the M6. With some of the best views, rides and trial facilities you will find anywhere in the UK we are sure you will enjoy your visit.
