Our horses are securely, safely and comfortably housed in a newly built stable complex — with access to state of the art training facilities including horse walkers, a full sized show jumping arena, cross country course and the exceptional natural facilities on our doorstep.
With the Owners living on site, 24hr professional care for the wellbeing and security of the horses is covered.
Access to the farm is secure with solid electric gates that can only be entered on invitation.
The large barn and paddocks were converted in 2009 refurbishing the barns into open plan American style barns with twelve 12x12 boxes, 4 large foaling boxes and 2 x 18 x 18 corner boxes for the large horses. These are covered by rubber matting, automatic waterers and hay mangers and include 2 large stalls for weaned foals and young horses to be turned out together through winter.
The fields are separated with new post and rails into 6 paddocks so to carefully separate the horses/foals or broodmares.
Lakeland Equestrian are proud of the high standard of care we offer and enjoy enabling the customers to view their horse at any time in the stable by CCTV link from their computer or even iphone. This is particularly good for foaling as Faye or Matthew can call you to let you know your mare has started and the owners can view the birth by webcam.
Being in the Lake District we are often blessed with some refreshing rain! This is when the Monarch 5 horse undercover horse walker proves a real benefit; the horses enjoy the social aspect of the walker and can strengthen muscles and ligaments while maintaining a good fitness level.
If the weather has not been too kind, the horses all take turns to be turned out into the Monarch Lunge pen with a Martin Collins surface. This allows them to have a good kick about and a roll. If they have a particular friend they enjoy socialising with, they get turned out together and enjoy a grooming session.
Lakeland Equestrian has a 60 x 40 all weather arena with a full set of show jumps including water trays walls and fun colourful fillers.
Within the open plan barn Lakeland Equestrian offer a wash down area with hot and cold water to bath your horses followed by a solarium to help dry and warm the horses before or after exercise, oh what it is to be a horse!
Like all athletes it is vital that horses are warmed up and cooled down correctly before and after exercise. Our state of the art horse walker, wash down area and solarium enable us to provide the best care possible.
For the owners we offer a warm clean environment in the purpose built tack room fully tiled, new kitchen units including a fridge, microwave and hot drinks making facilities. The Tack room is monitored by CCTV 24hrs a day and is securely locked.
The livery packages are bespoke to each individual customers requirements; 24hr care of your horse can involve exercising and schooling of your horse by our experienced team or just the care.
Lakeland Equestrian are constantly investing in the facilities and plan to build an indoor arena and more stalls for the yearlings as our breeding programme expands.
We are situated in one of the most beautiful place in UK with endless countryside to hack out into all accessible for quite lanes. Both Matthew and Faye have their HGV license so they can offer collection and transport of horses in Lakeland Equestrian 5 horse Scania Wagon.
"I am writing to thank you for having my horse over the winter months while I sorted out everything at home, now finally things are getting back to some kind of normality and catching up with all the little jobs (like writing thank you letters) that never seemed to get done. I was very impressed with the way you all took care of him and found it was reasonably priced for the amount of care in exercise, feeding and welfare of ‘Rou’ even though I am sure at times he tested your patience in his ability to escape from his stable. I go away from time to time for various things so I may need to send him back to you for odd weeks here and there, thanks again for keeping him ‘ticking over’ for me it has taken me a lot less time to get him fit coming from you than if I had sent him elsewhere."

"I have had my mare ‘Silvie‘ on full livery for a few months now. As I work full time, running a village shop and post office, I found that the service provided was excellent. In fact I would have found it impossible to be a horse owner without this service. The care and attention to detail have exceeded my expectations, and I have also found the staff friendly and hard working. I have also observed the care of the two mares due to foal, and if ever I decide to breed mine, this would be the yard where I would like her to be."
